INTRODUCTION.
MESSAGE.

1.Conquering your Jericho with YOUR strength.

A. Fear.

Numbers 13:31 NASB95
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us.”
Numbers 13:33 NASB95
33 “There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

B. Disobedience.

Numbers 14:39–40 NASB95
39 When Moses spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people mourned greatly. 40 In the morning, however, they rose up early and went up to the ridge of the hill country, saying, “Here we are; we have indeed sinned, but we will go up to the place which the Lord has promised.”

C. Consequences.

Numbers 14:32–34 NASB95
32 ‘But as for you, your corpses will fall in this wilderness. 33 ‘Your sons shall be shepherds for forty years in the wilderness, and they will suffer for your unfaithfulness, until your corpses lie in the wilderness. 34 ‘According to the number of days which you spied out the land, forty days, for every day you shall bear your guilt a year, even forty years, and you will know My opposition.

2. Conquering your Jericho with GOD’S strength.

A. Be Strong and Courageous.

Joshua 1:6–7 NASB95
6 “Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 “Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.

B. Obedience.

Joshua prepared the people.
Joshua 1:10–11 NASB95
10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, 11 “Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you are to cross this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you, to possess it.’ ”
Went into action.
Joshua 3:1–3 NASB95
1 Then Joshua rose early in the morning; and he and all the sons of Israel set out from Shittim and came to the Jordan, and they lodged there before they crossed. 2 At the end of three days the officers went through the midst of the camp; 3 and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.
Even in light of God’s commands not making sense.
Crossing the Jordan River.
Joshua 6:
walk around the city quietly once a day for 6 days
On the 7th day walk around 7 times then shout when the trumpet blows.
Obey God and leave the consequences to Him" - Dr. Charles Stanley.

C. Consequences.

Victory.
Joshua 6:20 NASB95
20 So the people shouted, and priests blew the trumpets; and when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight ahead, and they took the city.
